I subscribed but never heard back from you. Why?

Fig Leaf Forum responds to all subscription requests. There may be technical issues that are preventing your mail from reaching Fig Leaf Forum (or preventing Fig Leaf Forum's mail from reaching you). Try sending a follow-up subscription request. If you still don't get a response, try sending a subscription request from an alternate e-mail address if you have one available to you.

I subscribed to the newsletter and received a confirmation message but never anything else. Why?

It may be that you did not properly reply to the confirmation message. Fig Leaf Forum is a responsible Internet mailer that operates a "double opt-in" subscription system to prevent potential abuses. All who subscribe to the newsletter must also send a message to the special e-mail address contained within the confirmation message before their subscription request will be processed. Please contact Fig Leaf Forum if you require additional assistance with confirming your subscription.

I subscribed to the newsletter and replied to the confirmation message but never received anything afterwards. Why?

It's possible that Fig Leaf Forum failed to process your subscription for some reason (mistakes do happen). It's more likely, however, that something is interfering with the delivery of your newsletters. Spam protection and content filters are more common and more aggressive than ever before, and these publications often contain words that might trigger action (naked, nude and nudity, for example). Certain types of spam protection require users to "whitelist" or otherwise approve the addresses of trusted senders. Fig Leaf Forum sends mail from two different addresses and they both need to be exempted from spam filters (see the Important Notice above). The newsletter is a fairly large document (usually about 60-65kb), and that can also occasionally pose problems for some e-mail services. Please contact Fig Leaf Forum if you fail to receive your newsletters.

When I subscribed and confirmed I included a message asking that my subscription be sent to a different address but it's coming to the address I used to subscribe. Why?

You must subscribe from the address at which you wish to receive mail from Fig Leaf Forum. Messages asking for subscriptions to be sent to other addresses will be ignored.

I was receiving my subscription regularly and then it stopped coming. Why?

This could happen for a number of reasons. You may have changed your e-mail address and neglected to notify Fig Leaf Forum. You, your Internet Service Provider or your Web Mail Provider may have implemented or upgraded spam protection that is now blocking or redirecting mail from Fig Leaf Forum. Your e-mail account may have been suspended, over quota or otherwise inactive at the time recent mailings were sent to you. Three consecutive bounces (mail returns) deactivates a subscription. Please contact Fig Leaf Forum if you think you need to reactivate your subscription.

I have received newsletters every month but didn't get one in December. Why?

Subscribers are reminded that Fig Leaf Forum's newsletter is published ten times per year, which means there will be two calendar months each year with no newsletter.

Can I receive newsletters and the EXTRA by e-mail in HTML instead of plain text?

No. Fig Leaf Forum is sent by e-mail only in plain text. A PDF version can be accessed by logging in above. Fig Leaf Forum EXTRA is only available in plain text.

AOL converts my newsletters into attachments that are difficult for me to open. What can I do?

All subscribers receive a Fig Leaf Forum News Update along with their regular newsletter. This small document (which is not converted to an attachment by AOL) contains links to easily downloaded plain text and PDF versions of the newsletter.

Can I obtain back issues?

Yes. Subscribers can log in to the Subscriber Center for free access to Fig Leaf Forum and Fig Leaf Forum EXTRA back issues.

The entire back issue archive is also available on CD-ROM for $10. A limited number of printed back issues can also be purchased for a reasonable price.
